Job Description
An Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner will help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations. They will work in both clinical and ASC outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team.
Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners perform the important task of educating patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments. They may conduct physicals, order tests and interpret test results. APNP’s serve as a patient’s primary healthcare provider. They can prescribe medications and will collaborate with the physicians in the health care of patients with chronic and acute pain conditions.
Pain management nurses are responsible for the care of patients with chronic or acute pain. Once they have assessed a patient’s pain, they work closely with doctors and other nurses to create a treatment plan. Pain management nurses administer medications and provide pain relief through other therapeutic methods.
MA-C’s are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks. MA-C’s will work in physician’s offices, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities.

Patient Care Coordinators are instrumental in helping patients receive great care with the attention and follow-up they need for optimal healthcare experiences. This requires a flexible attitude, quick thinking and a caring disposition. Duties may vary from day-to-day and week-to-week, but can involve the following tasks and responsibilities: manage patient care, patient screening, scheduling, manage patient placement, communicate with nurses and physicians, handle inbound calls and answer patient questions, connect with new patients via phone, text and email, coordinate with insurance carriers, maintain files and electronic files, patient case management tasks, data collection and maintain patient confidentiality and related duties as needed.
Patient Scheduler will be responsible for checking-in and checking-out patients and understanding patient’s needs to successfully organize and schedule procedures accordingly and promptly. This candidate will have responsibilities and duties that include scheduling procedures face to face with the patient and via phone, informing and educating patients regarding procedures, communicating with necessary providers regarding patients’ status, data entry, as well other duties as needed.
The PA-C is a licensed provider who has acquired a broad range of knowledge and skills through the successful completion of a physician assistant program. The PA-C is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. The PA-C works under the supervision of an attending physician.
The physician assistant (PA) is a licensed provider who has acquired a broad range of knowledge and skills through the successful completion of a physician assistant program. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. The physician assistant works under the supervision of an attending physician.
Pre-Authorization Specialist is responsible for obtaining benefits, verifying insurance information and pre-authorizations for services from various insurance companies in a timely manner and appropriately documenting the information in the patient’s electronic medical record to ensure accurate billing and timely collection of outstanding accounts receivables.

RN-Patient Coordinator works with medical staff throughout all PPWhealth clinics and ASC’s pertaining to acute and chronic pain management of patients. Provides formal and informal education for medical staff regarding intravenous and epidural patient-controlled analgesia. Provides formal and informal education for anesthesia residents regarding intravenous and epidural patient-controlled analgesia. Ensures adequate and safe administration of intravenous and epidural patient-controlled analgesia through on-going quality improvement studies.
Maintains patient records in the out-patient pain management center facilities. Ensures that updated information regarding out-patient chronic pain patients is regularly reported back to the patient’s referring physician. Patient and family education regarding out-patient chronic pain management procedures. Conducts telephone follow-up of patients who had out-patient pain management procedures to ensure patient satisfaction. Completes and reports statistics within the facilities. Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned.
Surgical techs / Scrub Techs have specific tasks before, during and after surgery in outpatient procedures. These duties may include preparing the surgical space, handling instruments to the surgeon, moving the patient to a recovery area and clearing the operating room for the next case.
This role begins before the surgery starts and ends after it is done. They are essential members of the surgical team. In addition to the duties listed above, surgical techs / scrub techs may also count supplies, such as sponges and instruments. One of the most important duties is to maintain a sterile environment.
Triage Pain Management staff work as members of multidisciplinary teams to help patients who suffer from chronic pain maximize their quality of life. They serve as patient advocates to obtain pain medications. They may work as liaisons with vocational programs to assist patients who suffer with pain issues return to work. Triage staff primarily work via telephone.

Under general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Manager, this position assists physician/provider with all general medicine or specialized medical practice duties. Licensed X-Ray Tech to Work with C- Arm Fluoroscopy Interventional Radiology Tech, the fluoroscopy technician assists the physician with interventional pain management procedures, scheduling, prep instructions, supply management, and patient recovery. Working knowledge of interventional equipment (including C-Arm and Radiology/X-ray equipment), procedures and materials/supplies needed for each procedure. Knowledge of sterile techniques.
